Tom Martin

Prior to joining GlobalMed, Tom held various leadership positions for several fortune 100 companies such as American Express and Boeing. Most recently, he held the position Sr. Manager of Operations Enablement for one of American Express' largest revenue-driving organizations in Commercial Acquisitions and Account Development. Prior to American Express, Tom spent 8 years with Boeing where he held multiple positions in Leadership, Program Management, Engineering, and Global Support. Tom is an Army Veteran and served 8 years in the National Guard as a Crew Chief on the Apache Helicopter. He had a combat tour in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. Tom holds two Bachelors of Science degrees in Technical & Business Management and Aeronautics. He holds several IT certifications (ITIL & Cobit 5), as well as, Certification in Leadership from Harvard. Tom lives in North Phoenix with his wife Katie and children and spends his free time attending sporting events and outdoor activities. He is an Arizona Cardinals fan and spends time supporting veteran organizations, victims of abuse & addiction, and charities through his church.

Dean Smith, MD
Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Smith brings to GlobalMed nearly two decades of telehealth, medical informatics, and clinical and operational leadership experience from the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Medical Services.
Patty Blegen
Director of Human Capital Management
Patty is responsible for the company’s staffing model and the operations of recruitment, training and management of employees. Effectively balancing big picture thinking and strategic hands-on execution has allowed her to successfully develop and improveprocedures and create a positive and collaborative company culture. Prior to GlobalMed, Patty held HR roles with fortune 500 companies such as Securian Financial and GEA and for nearly a decade served as HR Director for a company providing services to adults and children with developmental disabilities. She attended Minnesota State University-Mankato where she majored in Psychology. A Minnesota native, Patty enjoys many outdoor activities including biking, alpine skiing, fishing and time at her family’s cabin in northern Minnesota. She has one son, Ben, and lives in Scottsdale with her partner Jeff and her Labrador, Riley.
Chokha Palayamkottai
Chief Technology Officer
As Chief Technology Officer, Chokha oversees all aspects of software engineering and technology delivery capabilities, bringing innovation in the areas of unified communications, artificial intelligence, distributed systems, blockchain, cloud, and parallel computing. Chokha was most recently CTO of Amsys Group where he led the development and implementation of AMSYS's blockchain product strategy, AMCHART health platform and AMSYS Capital software platform. Chokha was responsible for managing Amchart's technology partnerships and senior-level relationships with leading and emerging technology companies, and he led HealthConnexx (an AMSYS company) technology initiatives and partnerships. Additionally, he developed Amsys’s Digital Asset Fund platform to trade digital assets based on complex quant algorithms and architected Amsys’s on-prem infrastructure which was instrumental in launching big data and distributed services division and played a key role in the company’s technology business during the major transitions to distributed computing and data driven products. Previously, Chokha has been a CTO, advisor and mentor for various startups and has a patent pending invention for a system to treat Alzheimer’s disease using Stroboscopic light therapy and data capture. He has been responsible for developing three new blockchain based businesses in the area of healthcare, supply chain and secure communication. Chokha has worked with several Fortune 500 companies including IBM, Cisco and Perficient as a Principal Architect delivering solutions to clients like Caterpillar and Etsy. Chokha was a mentor at a leading startup accelerator Kyyba Xcelerator and was part of the TiE Charter Member – largest non-profit organization for entrepreneurs and a co-chair for Artificial Intelligence track for TiE Midwest region.
Brian Blakley
Chief Information Security Officer
Experienced professional in Information Technology (IT), Information Security, Governance, Risk and Compliance. Brian has provided strategy and leadership in IT and Information Security engagements for a wide variety of industries in predominantly mid-market and enterprise organizations. All while founding seven IT and information security firms over the last 20 years that he eventually sold and exited. Additionally, Mr. Blakley has been directly involved in several acquisitions over the years as a buyer, seller and adviser.
Ken Starr
Executive Vice President, Sales & Services
Ken brings over 20 years of experience leading global sales, success, professional services, and support teams within a SaaS model. His primary career missions have been to generate sales from new accounts, secure new sources of revenue from internal business segments all while improving customer satisfaction and retention. Ken is passionate about ensuring a client’s success, earning their trust, and developing not only client relationships, but personal friendships along the way.
Kate Lunt
Director of Marketing
For over 20 years, Kate has been driving revenue growth for B2B, B2C, and nonprofit organizations by leading and executing digital and traditional marketing, branding, and communication strategies. She landed in healthcare technology eight years ago through a marketing development role at a nonprofit behavioral health provider, which led to managing marketing for a behavioral health software solutions company. Before GlobalMed, Kate served as the head of US marketing for a global population health management company. She has further used her experience to provide a wide range of marketing services and strategic guidance for health information exchange and healthcare privacy and security companies, and previously served on the board of the Arizona Chapter of HIMSS leading marketing, events, and sponsorship initiatives.
