GlobalMed Virtual Care Platform Now Available in the Microsoft Azure Marketplace

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.— Feb. 4, 2019 — GlobalMed, a Microsoft Gold partner and one of the first Federal Independent Software Vendors (ISV) for Microsoft, today announced the availability of its virtual care platform as a service, eNcounter®, in the Microsoft Azure Marketplace, an online store providing applications and services for use on Microsoft Azure. GlobalMed customers can now take advantage of the scalability, high availability, and security of Azure, with streamlined deployment and management.

GlobalMed became a leading Federal Independent Software Vendor (ISV) for Microsoft due to the unique capabilities of eNcounter, which is designed to unify vertically integrated hardware and software to simplify virtual care delivery for providers. In 2017, after a stringent process known as a Risk Management Framework, GlobalMed earned the much-coveted U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Authority to Operate on DoD networks. The DoD selected GlobalMed for its HIPAA-compliant virtual care platform that seamlessly and securely connects healthcare professionals and patients, regardless of location.

GlobalMed’s eNcounter platform is optimally architected to maximize the configurability, reliability, and agility of Azure to drive accelerated application development and shape nascent virtual care business strategies for progressive healthcare delivery organizations.

In addition to security, the platform is designed for simplicity. Joel E. Barthelemy, founder and CEO of GlobalMed, said, “Our tools are simple, easy to learn, and never stand in the way of the patient-provider relationship. With eNcounter, our mobile and computer accessible software platform, clinicians can access robust care management features and practice management tools for any form of virtual care at any location.”

“Through Microsoft Azure Marketplace, customers around the world can easily find, buy, and deploy partner solutions they can trust, all certified and optimized to run on Azure,” said Sajan Parihar, Director, Microsoft Azure Platform at Microsoft Corp. “We’re happy to welcome GlobalMed’s eNcounter virtual care platform to the growing Azure Marketplace ecosystem.”

The Azure Marketplace is an online market for buying and selling finished Software as a Service (SaaS) applications and premium datasets. The Azure Marketplace helps connect companies seeking innovative, cloud-based solutions with partners who have developed solutions that are ready to use.
